aBOUT THE ARTIST

Autumn Sunshine Tomlinson is a visual artist whose work explores the thresholds of change—those moments of transition, decision-making, and self-awareness that shape human experience. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Oregon in 2007 and has since drawn inspiration from her extensive travels. Having lived and worked in the United States, Canada, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, and Antarctica, Autumn creates work that interlaces regional fictional histories with lived realities, weaving together personal and cultural narratives.

Her practice spans printmaking, painting, ceramics, and commissioned projects, often reflecting the layered textures of place and memory. Deeply inspired by the repetitive patterns found both in nature and in the built, man-made world, her work considers how these rhythms shape perception and meaning. Autumn has participated in international and regional residencies, including the Dragon Dance Theater in Trois-Rivières, Canada (2017), and Studio Place Arts in Barre, Vermont (2019–20). Her artwork is held in private collections across the United States, Canada, and Australia. She currently resides in Tacoma, Washington, where she continues to create and expand her artistic practice.
